Methuen Teen Rejects Plea Deal

A Methuen teenager that was accused of running down a 12-year-old-boy on Route 113 in Lowel last November has rejected a plea deal and will move forward with a trial, news reports said.

Michelle Medeiros, 17, was charged in the hit-and-run accident that seriously injured Kelvin Savanmixhay of Lowell who was crossing Route 113 when the accident occurred.

Kevin's mother Dao Savanmixhay, said, "I just want to see that she does some time behind bars like everybody else."

The judge recommended a sentence of 1 year behind bars (the prosecutors suggested six months). That was when Medeiros decided against pleading guilty to motor vehicle charges and opted to proceed with a trial scheduled for November.
