It was reported today that Charles Daher, the president of the very successful Lawrence car dealership Commonwealth Motors, will soon be adding another dealership in the area.
Daher is purchasing the Sons of Italy lodge, located at 155 Marston Street in Lawrence, in order to open a brand-new dealership on the 5-acre property. It’s too early to say what kind of vehicles will be sold at the dealership site, which sold for $2.55 million, as Daher is still in the planning phase. He estimates that approximately $5 million will go towards the construction of the Marston Street dealership.
The Sons of Italy are in the process of finding another location and will have about a year to do so once the closing of the lodge is final on March 1 and Daher takes over as owner of the property.
Daher’s Commonwealth Motors has about 1,000 vehicles of several makes and models and has been named as one of the top 10 car dealerships in all of New England.
