Dorchester Man Dies After Being Run Over by Trash Truck in Methuen

Keimani Bell, 28, of Dorchester was killed yesterday morning on Bruce Street in Methuen after he fell off of the back of a trash collection truck and was run over by the truck. Bell was declared dead at the scene of the accident around 11:30am by authorities.

The Eagle Tribune reports that Bell, who worked as a trash collector, had just picked up a trash bag off of the roadway when he slipped off of the back of the truck and landed in the path of the wheels. The truck was travelling in reverse at that time and Bell was then run over. Bell worked for the trash removal company F.W. Russell & Sons based in Somerville. The company has handled trash removal services for Methuen for the last 6 years. No charges have been filed in the death. The tragic accident resulted in a police investigation and reconstruction of the accident that lasted for several hours on Bruce Street.
