Derry Woman Injured in I93 Rollover Crash

Andrea Capozzi , 29, of Derry, NH was injured in a rollover accident on Interstate 93 yesterday afternoon. Capozzi was trapped in her rolled over compact car until Methuen firefighters were able to free her by cutting the roof off the vehicle.

The Eagle Tribune reports that Capozzi was driving on I- 93 South when her car, a 2002 Hyundai Accent, rolled over in the high-speed lane about 100 yards north of Exit 48, the Route 213 interchange.

The Accent came to rest on the driver’s side, its back end against the guardrail, the article said.

According to police, witnesses said a man wearing a dress shirt and tie exited the car right after the crash and fled the scene. He was apparently able to free himself from the rolled over car.

This part of the accident remains under investigation, police said.

Capozzi was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital following the crash, where she was listed in fair condition.
